The Rise Of The 2nd Job

The Rise Of The 2nd Job

A recent article printed in the Guardian showed the extent that the UK working population is going too, to keep the lifestyles we have enjoyed in the past, or even just to remain in the black!!

Low wages, inflation and pay freezes mean that for more and more employees a second job is a necessity. The time has now come that many people simply cannot afford to maintain the lifestyles that just a few years ago were thought of as the norm. Spiralling fuel costs and increases in the mortgage rate by various lenders continue to heap pressure on UK families and with the budget again hitting hard across the board everyone needs a little extra.

Inflation is now eroding take-home pay (in January 2012, wages grew by just 0.7% compared to inflation of 3.6%), and many families are now losing £500 a year due to the cutting of tax credits that was introduced in the budget, so 2nd income solution is increasingly becoming the norm. Last year 94,000 more people looked at taking a 2nd job, taking the total to 1.1 million, the highest level since 2002.

A second job is almost becoming a must-have for some people now, in fact a recent survey done by  Unite show out of 1500 people surveyed 24% had second jobs and 90% were doing them to boost their income, but it not just the working classes that are struggling so are the squeezed middle classes with 25% of interviewed saying they would consider looking at starting up a side line in the home selling sector that has truly started to take off again

As Jane Connor said I joined Kleeneze just to earn an extra £50 a week so we could continue to live the lifestyle we were a customed too, we quickly realised that Kleeneze offered far more and our income quickly increased. As a Wife and a Mother the job needed too be flexible to work around my commitments this is where Kleeneze wins hands down. "I've never looked back" Jane said having now had 6 years of year on year growth which was done during the worst recession in recent history!
Jane said " were looking to turn over £200,000 this year and with an average income cheque between £1500 - £2000 every 4 weeks, then joining for an extra £50 per week was so worth it!!

As many people continue to look for the opportunity that will provide an extra income the only decision is which one suits me and Kleeneze is really in a fantastic position with both Party Plan and the traditional retailing side open to anyone with the need to earn an extra income or build a platform for a life of success !!
